a Vickers-Armstrong Valiant bomber refuelling three Gloster Meteor M.8 fighters. This method of refuelling aircraft in flight, known as the probe and drogue, has been developed by a British firm, Flight Refuelling Ltd. The two principal pieces of equipment enabling the refuelling contact to be made are respectively a probe, or projection, on the receiving aircraft, and a drogue trailed by the tanker aircraft at the end of a length of hose.
Each selected pair has been twined to give a pleasing picture to be displayed with an A4 or A3 printed size, large enough to read the small Eagle Centrespread text.
